After a full day of working hard on garden projects, I went out to water the plants one last time. This has become a nightly routine, as the days are getting warmer, and the plants are facing longer days of braving the hot sun and dry air.
Some new plants were added today, so they needed gentler care and more frequent hydration. We don't have lights on our garden boxes yet so I'm watering in the dhile watering in the dark, I noticed the sound of the water falling on each leaf, and then realized that as I moved through the garden the sound was unique to each plant. The zucchini roaring thunder whereas the kale mmiced to each plan leaf and the way water sounds as it splashes against its leaves, as it soaks in the fresh, cool lifesource. Perhaps the sound was move vibrant because the leaves are getting bigger and the plants are getting stronger, or perhaps Mother Nature really wanted me to listen.
Today, my garden taught me to take time and listen to all the unique sounds. To listen to each plant's echo into the world, as they all have something different to say. And what we hear may be quite musical or soothing, it may be enchanting or if we just spent the time listening.
